For years, I had wanted to go to India; finally, in late 2012, I went as part of a group tour of the Golden Triangle.  This trip covered most of the best-known sites in northern India and was overwhelming both visually and emotionally.  It made me want to go back and see more, to get away from an organized tour and get to know the country on a more intimate level.  I was advised that India is so colorful that it would be a waste to photograph in black and white, but there is a timeless quality to the country that I wanted to capture with my Leica rangefinder camera and black and white film.
